Communities around Orange County plan to honor their residents who served this country in the military with Veterans Day events.

Most ceremonies are planned on Nov. 11, unless otherwise noted. Here are details on several of the events scheduled around the region in honor of veterans:

Anaheim: The city will honor those who have served with a ceremony at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, at its veterans monument at 241 S. Anaheim Blvd. Speakers will include the commanding officer of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and an armed forces medley choir performance also will be featured. Anaheim Hills: The Anaheim Hills Rotary Club will again host its Flags of Honor Field at Eucalyptus Park through Nov. 13. Visitors can walk through the field and read dedications on the flags to veterans, members of the military and first responders who have served our county. On Nov. 12, at 10 a.m., there will be a dedication ceremony with a patriotic presentation and honoring the Gold Star Mothers in the community. Information: www.anaheimhillsrotary.org.

Brea: The city will pay tribute to veterans and those who died while serving their country during a 10 a.m. ceremony on Nov. 11, at the Brea War Memorial at the Civic Center. This is also the 10th anniversary of the memorial. Members from all branches of the military will be in attendance, and a wreath-laying and honor guard ceremony will be part of the event. Seating and parking are limited, so guests are requested to arrive early. Information: cityofbrea.net

Costa Mesa: The OC Fair & Event Center’s Heroes Hall Museum will honor veterans and celebrate the groundbreaking for the museum’s new serenity walk at 11 a.m. on Nov. 12. There will also be music, food, activities for kids and on exhibit at the museum is “Armed Only with a Camera: World War II Photography of Stanley Troutman.” The fairgrounds are at 88 Fair Drive.

Dana Point: VFW Post 9934 and its Ladies Auxiliary will join the city for a community event at 10 a.m. Nov. 11, at Strands Vista Park, 34201 Selva Road. The program will include the unveiling of updated plaques with the names of recently deceased veterans who were members of Post 9934 or residents of the city.

Fountain Valley: The city with VFW Post 9557 and its auxiliary and the Fountain Valley Community Foundation, will honor veterans with a ceremony at 10 a.m. on  Nov. 11, at Veterans Park, 17641 Los Alamos St. The ceremony also can be viewed live online at facebook.com/fvrecreation/.

Fullerton: The community’s annual Veterans Day events on  Nov. 11, kicks off with a parade at 10:30 a.m. starting at Harbor Boulevard and Wilshire Avenue. The parade will travel north on Harbor Boulevard to Hillcrest Park, 1200 N. Harbor. At 11 a.m. the ceremony begins and will feature patriotic music, laying of wreaths and remarks by Brigadier General David G. Smith, Special Assistant to the Commanding General, California State Guard, California Military Department. All veterans are welcome to join in the parade, but must be able to march in regular cadence for about three-quarters of a mile. Arrive at the Downtown Plaza no earlier than 10 a.m. JROTC units from Fullerton area high schools and the Troy High School Marching Band will participate as well.

Garden Grove: A celebration honoring all who served in the military will include a speech by Nick Saifan, a retired captain who served in the Army and the Navy, music by DJ Gummo, children’s activities, and free BBQ for veterans. It takes place at the Garden Grove Elks Lodge, 11551 Trask Ave.

Huntington Beach: The Veterans Day ceremony and car show on  Nov. 11, includes an 11 a.m. ceremony at Huntington Beach City Hall, 2000 Main St. and a car show with live music and food vendors from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the beach parking lot on Pacific Coast Highway at Huntington Street. Free to attend.

Huntington Beach: A ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Nov. 11, at Huntington Beach Pier Plaza. The American Legion Post 133 presents the program with the city. Special guest speaker will be Command Senior Chief Vena Ramirez with the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach.

Irvine: The city will host a ceremony from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 11, in the formal garden area at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park, 4 Civic Center. The free ceremony will pay tribute to our nation’s troops and honor local veterans and military organizations.

La Habra: The community’s recognition ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at the La Habra Community Center, 101 W La Habra Blvd. Information: lahabraca.gov

Lake Forest: The 33rd Veterans Day observance at El Toro Memorial Park will start at 11 a.m. Nov. 11. The free event will include Retired U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and Lake Forest Mayor, Robert Pequeño as the keynote speaker and feature a wreath presentation, patriotic entertainment, a color guard provided by the South Coast Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, the recognition of veterans and Blue and Gold Star Mothers and an honor guard firing salute provided by VFW Edward J. Kearns Post 6024. The memorial park is at 25751 Trabuco Road. Information: 949-951-8244

Laguna Beach:  A ceremony hosted by the VFW and American Legion honoring all veterans who served in the armed forces will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 11, at Heisler Park, 375 Cliff Drive. A C17 flyover will be provided by the Air Forceand the First Marine Division Band will perform.

Laguna Niguel: The community’s ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, at Sea Country Senior & Community Center, 24602 Aliso Creek Road, and will feature speaker Retired U.S. Air Force Major Gen. William J. Mall, who will speak to “Missing in Action, the Long Journey Home.” Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Also featured will be chalked messages to veterans people have been leaving at the center all week; it is open during regular hours for people to add their message before the event, bring your own chalk.

Mission Viejo: The community ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 11, at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center. There will be a color guard, rifle salute, performances and keynote addresses. A dessert reception and veteran resource fair follows the ceremony.

Orange: The Field of Valor is now on display through8 p.m. on Veterans Day at Handy Park, 2143 E. Oakmont Ave. The tribute featuring a field of flags honors veterans and active military service members. It is open to visit daily. Information: communityfoundationoforange.org

Orange: The city will hold a tribute to veterans at 2 p.m. on Nov. 11,  in front of the Veterans Memorial at Depot Park, 100 N. Atchison St. Keynote speaker will be Cpl. Dwight Hanson of the United States Marine Corps, and there will be patriotic music, inspirational messages and light refreshments. Information: cityoforange.org

Placentia: The city’s 34th ceremony will start at 10 a.m. on Nov. 11, at the veterans monument in the Civic Center, 401 E. Chapman Ave. There will be speakers, patriotic music and new banners recognizing military service will be highlighted. The added service members to the veterans monume  nt will be honored, and their name inscriptions will be unveiled. Information: Placentia.org

Seal Beach: Seal Beach Lions Club and Grace Community Church are hosting an event at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at Eisenhower Park, 901 Ocean Ave. There will be guest speakers and a color guard ceremony.

Stanton: The city’s ceremony honoring those who have served will begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 11, at Veterans Memorial Park, 10970 Cedar St., and invites the community to “honor past and current service members for their dedication to our country and hear a fellow veteran share their story.”

Tustin: The Parks and Recreation Department is honoring local veterans with a ceremony at 11 a.m. that will include the installation of 12 new pavers at the city’s Veterans Memorial. Also being held is a car show with vehicles from the Marconi Automotive Museum. There will be music and community booths with resources for veterans as well as food trucks and a beer garden. Activities are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Veterans Sports park, 1645 Valencia Ave.

Yorba Linda: The community’s annual ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. Nov. 11, at the veterans memorial at Veterans Park, 4750 Valley View Ave. This year, Army and World War II veteran Staff Sgt. Yoshio Nakamura, a member of the all-Japanese-American 442d Regimental Combat Team, the most highly decorated unit in US military history, will be the keynote speaker. The Esperanza HS Air Force Junior ROTC will present the Colors and there will be pipers from the Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums. The traditional Gold Star Roll Call will be conducted.

Yorba Linda: The Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum, 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd., will host a free air show that guests can view in the parking lot at 10:50 a.m. before heading into the East Room for a patriotic concert featuring the Huntington Beach Concert Band. Veterans will receive free admission to the museum all day. The event is free to all, but visiting the library requires admission. RSVP for the concert at nixonfoundation.org/events.
