ORANGE COUNTY BASEBALL TOP 25

1. Orange Lutheran (24-4)

Casey Borba leads the Trinity League champion Lancers in home runs (5) and RBIs (26) as they go into the playoffs with their first game Tuesday against Bonita at Hart Park in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

2. Foothill (19-9)

The Crestview League champion Knights had a first-round bye in the playoffs, will play at home against Santa Margarita on Tuesday in a Division 1 game.

3. Villa Park (25-4)

The Spartans defeated Ayala 3-2 in the first round of the Divison 1 playoffs as Zach Brown drove in two runs, and AJ Krodel and Brandon Luu shared the pitching duties. They play at San Dimas on Tuesday.

4. JSerra (19-10)

Tyler Gough struck out the first six batters he faced in the Lions’ 4-1 win over West Ranch in a Division 1 first-round game. JSerra is home for an afternoon game against Capistrano Valley on Tuesday.

5. Huntington Beach (20-8)

The Surf League champion Oilers, who had a first-round bye, open the Division 1 playoffs at home Tuesday against Bishop Amat. They scored 32 runs over their final three regular-season games.

6. Cypress (21-5-2)

For the third time over the past five years the Empire League champion Centurions will play Servite in a playoff game, Tuesday at home in the Division 1 first round.

7. Servite (17-11)

Senior left-hander Mikiah Negrete, who signed with the University of San Diego, had a season-high 11 strikeouts in his complete-game win, 3-2 victory over Corona del Mar in the first round of the Division 1 playoffs. The Friars play at Cypress in the second round Tuesday.

8. Santa Margarita (19-10)

Luke Lavin was 4 for 4 with four RBIs and Blake Balsz had three hits including a two-run home run in the Eagles’ 13-10 win over Trabuco Hills in a Division 1 first-round game. They play at Foothill in the second round Tuesday.

9. Capistrano Valley (17-10-1)

Owen Geiss pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings in relief and Michael Walshe had three hits for the Cougars in their 12-inning, 5-4 win over Corona in a Division 1 first-round game. They play at JSerra in the second round Tuesday afternoon.

10. Trabuco Hills (23-6)

The Mustangs had 12 hits, including two Will Burns home runs, but they also made four errors in their 13-10 loss to Santa Margarita in a Division 1 first-round game.
