Los Angeles indie rock band Weezer is hitting the road and bringing some friends along on its Indie Rock Roadtrip Tour this summer.
The outing includes stops at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine on Sep. 2 and Gallagher Square at Petco Park in San Diego Sept. 3. Though there’s a rotating roster of opening acts, including Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Joyce Manor and Momma, White Reaper and Spoon will join Weezer on the Southern California dates.
Tickets go on sale to to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3 at ticketmaster.com. Presale options, including VIP packages, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1.
This tour comes following the “Say It Aint So” rockers’ “SZNZ” projects in 2022, where a string of seasonal releases including “Spring,” “Summer,” “Autumn,” and “Winter” were made in real-time to reflect the sounds of each season of the year. Hits from the EPs include “Records” and “A Little Bit Of Love.” The latest offerings from the band include, “I Want a Dog,” which comes from “SZNZ: Winter EP and was released on Dec. 9. The song “Dark Enough To See the Stars” was released, with an accompanying music video, when “SZNZ: Winter” officially dropped on Dec. 21 last year.
