Terran Orbital recently relocated its headquarters from Florida to Barranca Parkway, where it will oversee development of spacecraft for the commercial aerospace and global defense industries. The company already had two facilities in Irvine, and this move boosts the city’s role as a fast-growing hub of pioneering aerospace firms.

Acquired by Lockheed Martin in October, Terran Orbital produces small satellites specializing in communications, Earth imaging and gathering lunar data.

The firm joins other major aerospace companies with Irvine locations, including Virgin Galactic, SpaceX and Turion Space.
