This week’s Orange County high school boys basketball rankings.


(Records through Tuesday, Feb. 22)

1. Mater Dei 28-4: Monarchs went 1-2 in CIF Southern Section Open Division pool play, with losses to Harvard-Westlake and Sierra Canyon and a win over Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks. Mater Dei, like all of the Open Division teams, qualified for next week’s CIF Southern California Regional.

2. Crean Lutheran 22-6: Saints were 0-3 in CIF-SS Open Division pool play, with losses to Damien, Bishop Montgomery and Centennial of Corona. Will they be in the same division as Mater Dei in the CIF SoCal Regional?

3. Santa Margarita 20-4: Eagles finished second in the Trinity League and defeated JSerra twice in league games.

4. JSerra 19-9: Lions, who finished fourth in the Trinity League, got hot at the best time to do so, advanced to the Division 1 championship. They’ll be at home Friday against St. Benard.

5. Fairmont Prep 17-7: San Joaquin League champion Huskies lost to St. John Bosco in the second round of the Division 1 playoffs.

6. San Juan Hills 27-4: Stallions, No. 8 in last week’s top 25, looked sharp in their win over St. Paul in the Division 2A semifinals.

7. Orange Lutheran 15-12: Lancers, fifth-place finishers in the Trinity League, lost to West Ranch in the Division 1 first round.

8. Capistrano Valley Christian 19-8: Eagles finished second in the San Joaquin League, lost to Crespi in second round of 2AA playoffs.

9. Edison 26-5: Surf League champion Chargers lost to La Mirada in 2A semifinals.

10. Canyon 25-8: Comanches, Crestview League co-champions with Foothill, lost to Los Altos in 2AA quarterfinals.

12. Pacifica Christian 17-13

13. Marina 20-10

14. Tesoro 22-6

15. Los Alamitos 20-8

16. Fountain Valley 12-9

17. Villa Park 16-9

18. El Dorado 21-10

19. San Clemente 17-8
