ORANGE COUNTY BASEBALL TOP 25

1. Orange Lutheran 18-3

The Lancers reached the semifinals of the National High School Invitational in North Carolina. Louis Rodriguez pitched a shutout, Oliver Santos struck out nine in 4 2/3 innings and Casey Borba and Sawyer Voortman drove in three runs each in the tournament.

2. Huntington Beach 14-6

The Oilers also reached the semifinals of the National High School Invitational by winning their first two games, but lost their final two games. Pitchers Ben Jacobs and Matthew Lopez had excellent outings in the tournament.

3.  Villa Park 17-2

The Spartans finished second in the Ryan Lemmon Invitational tournament, including a 1-0 win over Dana Hills in which Brandon Luu pitched a shutout.

4. Cypress 17-3-2

The Centurions, who were No. 9 in the rankings last week, move into the top five after winning the National Classic championship. The tournament MVP was Nick Montgomery, who was 7 for 12 with three doubles, a home run and four RBIs.

5. Foothill 13-6

The Knights, tied with Villa Park for first in Crestview League, did not play last week. They have two league games this week against Canyon.

6. JSerra 11-9

The Lions are in the middle of a break in their schedule. They’ll play in the Boras Classic South next week.

7. Servite 9-8

The Friars went 1-2 in the National High School Invitational. They got good production from Jarrod Hocking (four hits, three doubles), Mikiah Negrete (four hits, two doubles) and Trevor Schmidt (three RBIs).

8. Santa Margarita 16-6

The Eagles went 3-1 in the National Classic with wins over La Jolla Country Day, San Dimas and Gahr and a loss to Cypress in the semifinals.

9. El Dorado 14-10

The Golden Hawks went 2-2 in the National Classic including a 3-2 win over Gahr in which Evan Rolbiecki hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

10. Mater Dei 11-7

Gavin Williams’ sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th inning gave the Monarchs a 3-2 win over Bonita in their only game last week.

11. Trabuco Hills 15-5

12. Corona del Mar 15-7

13. San Clemente 12-8

14. Ocean View 14-7

15. Pacifica 14-7

16. Los Alamitos 13-6-2
