Sierra Vista Middle School’s Science Olympiad team has clinched the Division B National Championship, the school’s second national title in four years. Competing against 60 of the top-ranked teams in the nation, the Irvine students took first place in a highly competitive 23-event tournament held at Michigan State University.
The victory marks a record-setting performance. Sierra Vista became the first school in national tournament history to win back-to-back “Sweepstakes” awards for the best overall performance. The team’s coaches credited the students’ dedication, teamwork and deep curiosity for the win, solidifying Sierra Vista as a national science powerhouse.
