Students from Irvine Unified School District earned top honors at this year’s National History Day – California, with nine projects named state champions and advancing to the national competition this month. The contest drew about 1,500 students from across California. The annual event invites students in grades 4 through 12 to explore historical topics through original research, resulting in documentaries, papers, websites, performances and podcasts.
