Irvine landed at No. 3 on WalletHub’s national “Best Places to Raise a Family” ranking, driven by its safety record, strong schools and low divorce rates. Analysts compared 182 U.S. cities across dozens of metrics.
In the study’s health and safety category, Irvine came out on top. The city has the second-lowest violent crime rate in the country. Low property crime and traffic fatality rates round out its leading safety score.
Education is another bright spot. Irvine ranks eighth nationally for high school graduation rates, and more than 80% of its schools earned a top rating of 7 out of 10 or higher. The study also noted Irvine has the second-lowest divorce rate in the country.
