Shortly after announcing a highly anticipated visit from Arturo Rivera Martínez — the Mexico City chef who made history by earning the first-ever Michelin star for a taco stand — Puesto has indefinitely postponed the event originally scheduled for this Thursday, Jan. 22 at the restaurant’s Irvine location.
“Puesto is a family-owned restaurant, and in nearly 14 years of opening their first restaurant, this is the first time they’ve had to postpone an event like this,” shared a spokesperson for the restaurant. “They care deeply about the experience they create for their guests, and when plans change in a way that doesn’t live up to that promise, the right thing for them to do is pause and reset.”
A specific reason for the cancellation was not disclosed.
The Taco Takeover was set to showcase the chef’s celebrated techniques and some of his signature tacos.
As of now, there is no word on if or when the event will be rescheduled.
