The city of Irvine and Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee invite the community to bring holiday cheer to Marine families by donating new, unwrapped gifts suitable for infants or children ages 12 and younger.

The regiment, aka the 2/11, was first activated in 1918 at Montierchaume, France. Its primary mission is to provide artillery support to the 5th Marine Regiment. The City of Irvine adopted the battalion in 2007.
