Irvine has again been named the “Best City to Live in” by Orange County Register readers, earning the honor for the 10th consecutive year. The recognition is part of the newspaper’s 32nd annual Best of Orange County guide, which highlights residents’ favorites.

Runner Ryan Borda, who has lived here about 18 years, appreciates the proximity to everything he needs. “I can walk out my front door, turn and run about 25 feet before I am on a trail that extends to pretty much all of Irvine,” he says. “That level of convenience is unmatched. I get quite excited to hear about the progress the city is making to further develop the trails.”

With more than 318,000 residents, Irvine continues to invest in amenities such as nationally ranked parks, the new Irvine Public Library system and sustainable mobility projects.

The article notes accolades in the areas of safety, schools, general happiness of residents and its top-notch park system. Borda agrees: “Between the planned communities, access to nature, high-quality education and the safety, there’s not a whole lot more you could ask from a city.”

Oak Creek resident Jane Gillespie grew up in Irvine and decided to raise her own family here. “Irvine has so much to offer – from great restaurants to the arts at Irvine Barclay Theatre and shopping at Irvine Spectrum Center. I love the city.”
