Tetairoa McMillan of Servite and Newport Harbor’s Morgan Netherton were named Orange County athletes of the year for the 2021-22 school year by the Orange County Athletic Directors Association.

McMillan was the Orange County football offensive player of the year as a receiver. He signed with Arizona. Netherton, who signed with USC, was the Orange County girls water polo player of the year.

McMillan won the Ken Fagans Award as male athlete of the year. Netherton received the Margaret Davis Award. Fagans and Davis were highly-regarded leaders in the CIF Southern Section administration.

Each Orange County league was able to select a male and female athlete of the year, all of whom must be seniors.

Orange: Michael Hortas-Aviles, Western; Diana Vo, Magnolia.

Orange Coast: Christopher Quiroga, Orange; Daisy Carrillo, Costa Mesa.

Pacific Coast: Tate Zimmerman, Irvine; Allison Morikawa, Northwood.

San Joaquin: Kai Taylor, Capistrano Valley Christian; Isabel Gomez, Sage Hill.
