Six Orange County players have been selected to try out for the men’s U19 national team that will play in the FIVB Men’s U19 World Championship in August in Argentina.

The six O.C. players, all of whom were juniors this past high school boys volleyball season, are: Josh Aruya, middle blocker, Mission Viejo; Kaumana Carreira, middle blocker, Tesoro; Sterling Foley, outside hitter, Corona del Mar; Ryan Gant, setter, Corona del Mar; Kellen Larson, libero, Woodbridge; and Trent Taliaferro, setter, JSerra.

They are among the 20 players invited to train July 22-30 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Twelve players will be selected from that group to play in the World Championship at San Juan, Argentina Aug. 2-11.
